Media, Ministry & Making Things Happen
Film. Music. Radio. Entrepreneurship. Ministry. Community impact.
Gail Smiley has built a career around one simple philosophy: when opportunity does not exist, create it.
From working in music, radio, artist development, promotions, film and television to building businesses and ministry programs, Smiley has remained driven by vision, faith, and an ability to turn ideas into action.
Her entertainment journey has included work around independent artists, radio programming, promotions, management, film production, television, media development, and creative entrepreneurship. But for Smiley, success has never been limited to entertainment.
Her deeper passion is service.
Through God’s Anointed Women, Smiley is preparing programs designed to help women and families facing domestic violence, housing instability, emotional trauma, financial hardship, and other difficult life circumstances.
Her ministry philosophy is direct:
“A true evangelist does not hide behind the pulpit. You have to go where the hurting people are.”
Smiley believes ministry has to reach beyond church walls and into the places where people are struggling.
She speaks about going into the “dark places” — communities and circumstances where people may feel forgotten, judged, abandoned, or afraid to ask for help.
Her approach is not condemnation.
It is listening.
“You cannot help people if they are afraid to tell you where they hurt.”
Smiley often compares ministry to medicine.
A doctor first listens to the patient, determines where the pain is, and then works toward treatment. In the same way, she believes evangelists and community leaders must allow people to talk openly about their lives before trying to guide them toward healing.
She is clear about one thing: she does not see herself as the healer.
Her mission is to help people reach the true Healer.
That vision is now being incorporated into God’s Anointed Women through plans for conferences, counseling and prayer resources, domestic-violence advocacy, housing connections, education, empowerment, and practical community assistance.
For Smiley, faith without action is incomplete.
Prayer matters.
But so does helping a woman find somewhere safe to sleep.
So does helping someone find food.
So does connecting a survivor with counseling.
So does opening a door that somebody thought was permanently closed.
And that combination of faith, business, media, and service continues to define Gail Smiley.
