Reigning from the most ethnically diverse urban area in the world, Marko “eMkay” Krevatas proudly calls
Queens, New York his home. Born in 1990, eMkay grew up during the golden era of hip-hop and was
heavily influenced by the scene and its culture. Notorious B.I.G. and 2pac were among the artists he
especially appreciated. At the age of 12, eMkay became inspired by Jamaica, Queens native emcee, 50
Cent. Inspired by the ambition and hunger inherent in 50 Cent’s music, eMkay began writing rhymes of his
own. He started to record music on his home computer as a way to bring his lyrics to life; it wasn’t long
before he was knocking at the doors of local Mixerhead Studios in hopes of perfecting his sound.
In late 2006 eMkay established the rap group and movement “No Respect”. The name derived from his older
brother’s graffiti crew. By 2011 he began recording his first project, “The Beginning”. With his music
gaining momentum throughout the neighborhood and the internet, eMkay was recognized by booking
agents as a result of his participating in Hot 97’s “Who’s Next” contest. On January 25,
2012, eMkay blessed the stage with his first performance at Club Pyramid in New York City.
eMkay eventually made the transition from performing local and citywide shows to capturing audiences across
the country. After making an appearance for Baltimore-based hip-hop TV show on Fox45 “Real Rap”, his
popularity grew immensely, gearing him up for the release of his second project, “Moving On”. His body of
work received great feedback, reaping many accolades and becoming a milestone in the Queens rapper’s
career. While making an appearance on the Shade 45 program “Hate It Or Love It” of SiriusXM Radio,
his single “Moving On” aired for 25 million subscribers worldwide. The official “Moving On” music video
debuted on WorldStarHipHop.com, spreading throughout the web to other powerhouse sites such
as ThatsEnuff.com, DesertStormRadio.com and VladTV.com.
The success of eM’s music made his social media presence soar to upwards of 17,000 Twitter followers. In
November 2013 eM traveled to Kentucky for the International Music and Entertainment Association
Awards (IMEA) show, where he won awards for both Best Hip-Hop Song (“Control”) and Best Hip-Hop
CD/Album (“Moving On”). Returning home to New York, eM opened up for Brooklyn-based multiplatinum
recording artist Fabolous at Studio Square in Astoria. Following a stellar performance, he released
his third project entitled “Consistency”, conceptually inspired by the devotion and consistent drive he has
toward mastering his craft. Independently filming and editing his own music videos as well as engineering
the entire “Moving On” project, eM has been creatively involved in every aspect of the musical process. On
October 4th, 2014, eMkay returned to Kentucky to attend the 2014 IMEA Awards for his nomination of
“Hip-Hop/Rap Artist Of The Year”. In attendance, eMkay took home another award following his
performance at the Paramount Theatre with his smash single “Imagine That”.
In present day, eMkay is currently promoting his debut EP “R.E.A.L (Revealing Everything About Life) which
was released on October 8th, 2014. The EP was released in both a free & iTunes version. The free version
was exclusively released on LiveMixtapes.com (indytapes), while the iTunes version included alternate
artwork & bonus track “We Don’t”. Expect a visual for every record on the EP and more from eMkay in
the near future!
